JOHN POINTON

DAYS END - OLD SYDNEY

Original Australian Oil Painting | Framed | $1,450 AUD

Day's End – Old Sydney is an atmospheric original oil painting by Australian artist John Pointon (born 1936), whose work reflects a longstanding fascination with the Australian landscape, built environment and the changing qualities of light.

In this evocative composition, Pointon captures the character of historic Sydney as daylight begins to fade. His expressive handling of paint, warm tonal relationships and sensitivity to atmosphere evoke a city shaped by time, memory and the rhythms of everyday life.

The painting offers more than a representation of place. It invites the viewer into a quieter moment, where architecture and fading light combine to suggest the enduring character of old Sydney.

With provenance from Montville Gallery in Queensland, Day's End – Old Sydney presents an appealing opportunity for collectors of traditional and representational Australian painting.

Presented in its original gilt frame, signed by the artist and ready to hang, this is a distinctive work celebrating Australia's urban heritage.
