Another work that was painted in the crucible of the pain of betrayal, the imagery is highly symbolic and the style is perhaps the most impressionistic moment in the series. The work is two inter-related images I one.. the wounded feminine archetype is in body sinking into a hole in the image, just her head is held above the surface. This is representative of the utter loss of orientation caused by post betrayal trauma as sufferers grapple with the blunt realist that the life they were living was not real, but build upon a web of lies and deceptions, of false feelings and misplaced loyalites. Looking from a differing perspective, the feminine face also comes into view, staring with unwavering intensity.
