SERIES 1 PLEASURE GARDEN

Limited seasonal collections of interior objects of beauty, practicality and rarity based on the artist’s original romantic impressionist oil paintings and photographs.

This is series 1, ‘Pleasure Garden’

In the nineteenth century, a pleasure garden was a place created for beauty, leisure and delight — a garden where people gathered among flowers, trees, music, art and curiosities, stepping for a while outside of the demands of ordinary life.

“Pleasure Garden is also the name of my en plein-air studio, set within the garden on the ridge where I live and paint. It is a place where the birds arrive, the garden grows around me, and the changing Australian light, weather, flora and fauna become part of my everyday visual world. It is here that I paint and photograph my reality into art.” Melani du Jardin

The Pleasure Garden collection contines that painted world beyond the canvas and into the home. Drawn from many of the artist’s original works depicting Australian birds, flowers, plants and landscapes, the collection transforms fragments of paintings and photographs into beautiful interior objects — lamps, cushions, chairs, wallpapers, murals, decorative pieces and objects for living.
