GLIMPSES OF HOME UPON THE BUNDJALUNG NATION
An exhibition of drawings and paintings by Melani du Jardin
Glimpses of Home upon the Bundjalung Nation brings together an intimate collection of drawings and paintings exploring the beauty, character and quiet poetry of everyday life in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales.
Through expressive brushwork, luminous colour and an enduring fascination with the natural world, Australian Romantic painter Melani du Jardin captures fleeting moments of belonging — the changing light upon a familiar landscape, the abundance of a garden, the intimacy of domestic spaces and the extraordinary beauty found in ordinary things.
Working within the traditions of Romanticism and Impressionism, du Jardin approaches her subjects with both observation and emotion. Her works are not simply representations of places and objects, but personal encounters with the world around her, shaped by memory, experience and a deep connection to the landscape she calls home.
At once playful, contemplative and deeply personal, Glimpses of Home upon the Bundjalung Nation is a celebration of the small moments that give a place its meaning, and of the profound relationship between art, nature and belonging.
